July has been a busy month with the majority of the horses running very well. This month saw Romantic Approach and Bear Me in Mind head home for a break and Lalipour has retired to go find a new career out of racing. We have been hitting the goal post this month with the ever consistent Oh So Hot, Thornaby Pearl, Tees Spirit and Lethally Lovely. The Big House also had his first start in Adrian’s colours he a real yard favourite and will be giving the yard some days racing.

The 20th of July saw “The Champ” Abate win at Notthingham under a very strong Barry McHugh, he was Barry’s first winner back since his nasty fall at Redcar from Bear Me In Mind. He has worked very hard to get back to full fitness and is riding very well we are very lucky to have such a dedicated jockey on our team.

Its that time of year again when the kids are on holidays so we have plenty of help on the yard. With the added surprise that Jack has started back riding again, he is really enjoying it and working hard on his leg strength. Ruby is also riding out and enjoying the experience of a variety of horses. It’s very important to teach and encourage the younger generation as they are the future.

Looking ahead to the weekend Abate, Lethally Lovely, Tees Spirit and Thornaby Pearl all run and we are very much looking forward to watching them. On a personal matter we were very proud to see Mia crowned Trainee Jockey of the Year at RACE in Ireland. She has worked very hard and it was great to see her being rewarded for it. Unfortunately we couldn’t make it over due to Covid restrictions but her Nanny and close family were there in force to celebrate the occasion
