Unfortunately our planned trip to participate in the Al Biddah Mile in Qatar next Saturday 20th has been cancelled. This is due to new Government Quarantine rules for people travelling into the country, they need to stay in their hotel room for 7 days not like the 2 days that was initially thought so it would of meant when Mamba arrived in Qatar on Saturday the 13th there would have been no one from our team to look after her, although help was offered by the organisers we just weren’t comfortable sending her all that way without one of us being their at the other side when she landed. Also due to the last minute changes Barry Mchugh wouldn’t have had time to get his Covid test here in UK in time for him to travel there on Friday 12th, as all travel and testing had been arranged for him to fly on Saturday 13th. Baz was going to exercise her daily, So him not being there to ride her was an other negative as they have a great partnership.
It’s is very disappointing but we have made the decision to decline the offer to travel, due to not feeling comfortable about no one being there with her for the full duration. ‘Yes’ the filly is ready but there is always an other day so we will regroup talk to the owner and set a new target for her.
