So last week started off very bad unfortunately Bear me in Mind and Barry Mchugh had a nasty fall at Redcar. Lily got up and galloped away and suffered minor injuries a bang to her nose and a few nicks on her legs. She was extremely lucky and will now have a few easy weeks to get over it and then we will bring her back into work steady. Things were not so lucky for Barry he broke his collarbone, needed some stitches around his mouth, plus some bad bruising around his ribs and lungs. Today (11/04) he is going for an other scan to make sure everything is as it should be. Once he gets a full diagnosis he can concentrate on getting better in the knowing that we all right behind him here and are looking forward to seeing him back in the saddle real soon It was also Lucy’s first day leading up so it was all a bit of a shock but she did amazing and it didn’t scare her off as she went again on Wednesday with Thornaby Flyer, who was having her first run for the yard where she ran very well and we were delighted with her looks like she could drop back in trip. Thornaby Pearl ran a very solid race to finish 3rd under a good ride from Duran Fentiman it was also his first start for the yard. Five and Dime made his seasonal reappearance under Tony Hamilton it was good first run and something to build on looks like he could go a bit further in the future.

The Big House(Noel) also made his seasonal reappearance at Catterick under the very good Apprentice Sean Kirrane he was beautifully turned out by Sarah(he is her favourite ), Noel does love to wear his Premier Equine sheet before racing it helps to keep him calm and relaxed. He ran a great race to finish 3rd, looking forward to some more fun days with him.

This week we had our first winner of the season Mo Ceilta won at Leicester under a very strong ride from Tony Hamilton, it might of only been a seller but she did us proud and stuck her nose out to hold on by the smallest of margins, and the icing on the cake she came home afterwards so lives to fight an other day.

Mamba Wamba had her final piece of work in preparation for next Wednesday at Newmarket where she runs in the Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes (Class 1) (Group 3) due to Barry being on the side lines Tony Hamilton has stepped in as super sub. The piece of work went to plan so all roads lead to HQ.

This week also saw Jack our head man deciding that he would like to have a ride out, he rode a 2yr old filly on the canter and his favourite filly Hot Love in the arena they both thoroughly enjoyed it and enjoyed a good cuddle afterwards.

An other first was Ruby Barr getting to ride her first fast piece of work on the straight gallop, she really did great and has come on so much. Jake comes and helps out when he can between studying, himself and Jack team up to lunge the horses and he does a great job. This half term has been amazing and yet again we will miss our young workforce so much as they really are coming on leaps and bounds.

We also say the arrival of two new 2 year olds, a gelding by Ardad who will be named ARSON he is compact from a sprinting family and ready to go. We also say the arrival of a Zoffany filly she looks to be a nice stamp of a filly and she too is ready to rock ‘n roll.
