Tuesday the 15th of Feb saw Pepper Streak win at Newcastle under a very strong ride from Barry McHugh. She made all of the running and battled hard in the last half furlong to hold off the challenge of Hollie Doyle on Judy’s Park winning by a nose. It was great for Pepper to get her head in front for our wonderful owners Roscourt.
Also this month we took 9 horses away to gallop at Newcastle Racecourse it was a wonderful morning and we are delighted to have the use of such a wonderful track. Eloise and her team were very helpful and we had the added bonus of been able to use the stable yard which meant our 2 year old’s we have a wonderful educational day. Starting with the journey in the lorry which was dine professional as ever by Martin Fosters Transport, to then be able to be stable in the yard so they could have a good luck at the surroundings. They then got saddle up and the jockeys rode them around the parade ring so they could relax and take it all in, followed by a steady hack down the track to then do a good exercise on the way back. Morning like these take some organizing and with out every body chipping in they can not happen. This includes the jockeys ( Barry McHugh, Connor Murtagh, Duran Fentiman) who travel the 1 1/2 hour drive to ride the horses and the team at home who look after the rest of the yard while we are galloping, it’s a full team effort.
